When filming we will need various pieces of equipment to get the shots we want, here is a list of everything we are using:
Camera
We are using the Nikon D3300 to film our music video with. We are using this camera because it is high quality and we have easy access to it because it is our friends. Alternatively we could have used the SLR camera which the media department has, however there are two classes using it, which means that the available time for us to use it would be very limited.
Tripod
We aim to have a large variety of shots in our media, including still shots, medium, medium/close up and long shots. For this we will need to use the tripod to ensure our shots are straight and at the right height. It is especially important for us to use a tripod for our studio and field shots. This is because our field shots will involve a few still long shots to include our location in the shot more. Our studio shots involve lots of action with the use of our props so we want to ensure the focus stays on the action rather than the camera work. Most of these action shots will also be edited heavily so it could look too intense if the camera is moving too.
Background
We are using a black and white double-sided back drop which we are borrowing from the media department at school. We are going to be using this in the drama studio at school, because the studio is completely black which will emphasise the lighting we are using because all natural day light can be easily be blacked out and we will have lots of space to work in .
Lighting
We will use the lighting in the drama studio in order to emphasise our features and any actions we are doing. We also may use a lighting kit which the media department is providing us with. In the field shots and bedroom shots we are going to use natural daylight. This is a risk because our shots may not look exactly how we may have wanted them to look if there is not enough sunlight. However from our practise field shots, we have been able to see realistically how our shots would look in natural daylight, and we are satisfied with the look of them.
