Target Audience Description

We feel that our music video for Gold by Kiiara will appeal particularly to a certain audience with the following characteristics.

Age;
Around 14 - 26
This is mainly because the video features my friend and i and we are age 17 and 18 therefore the people that watch the video may feel like they can relate to us more if they're of a similar age. Similarly, the song itself is very upbeat and the kind of song a younger person is more likely to listen to rather than someone older.

Gender;
Mostly females, possibly some males
We feel females will enjoy our piece because of the arty shots we will include and also because the whole piece will include shots of girly things for example nicely done makeup and fashion. We feel that some males will take an interest due to the possible misogynistic shots of my friend and i.

Social Demographic;
B, C2
The main reason for this is because we feel these groups of people are most likely to find out about more alternative songs that aren't mainstream.

Occupation;
Students or the art industry (music, photography, fashion)
We feel students are most likely to hear about songs like this the most as they're likely to be signed up for music apps such as Spotify or Apple Music where they can discover more alternative songs like this. People that work in the art industry will appreciate the different artistic shots.

Hobbies;
Art, Photography, Makeup, Fashion, Performance
Our video is very performance and concept based and includes a range of artistic shots that people that enjoy art and photography should appreciate, the style of the actors in the video should appeal to make up and fashion lovers as the girls will have their makeup done and will be in a fashionable outfit.

Style;
Alternative
The song isn't mainstream so therefore the video will represent the alternative vibe of the song.

Media Grouping;
Films:'500 days of summer', TV:'Made in chelsea', Artists:'Flume', Music: 'Alternative, indie/pop, electropop.
These features of media are likely to be consumed by the people that would enjoy the video as they share similar characteristics of not being mainstream and being in the similar genre etc.


Uses&Gratifications;
Entertain, escape, identify
The video would help entertain as it would be an enjoyable video to consume and would be excited due to the shots and colours used. It would help people escape their everyday life as it won't be completely natural with the mis-en-scene. Finally it would help someone identify their personality as they may realise this genre of music is for them.

Problems&Solutions;
Routine, tiring, dull and environment - doing different activities in the video in different locations, we are doing some exciting things to combat the tiredness our audience may feel, metallic colours, range of locations that are not domestic so they can escape their routine.
